Destiny: Promised Legacy
Perth Anime Convention Inc (PAniC) is proud to present Destiny: Promised Legacy. Featuring artists from the Eminence Symphony Orchestra, with special guest Yasunori Mitsuda, on the evening of 23rd January 2010.
Destiny: Promised Legacy will be the first concert where Eminence musicians will be performing in Perth. Seven musicians from the orchestra will be performing music from many anime and video games, particularly works from Makoto Shinkai. This inaugural concert will be a unique experience for Western Australians.
The Eminence Symphony Orchestra has been instrumental in connecting youth audiences around Australia with vibrant, classical music by presenting music from video games and Japanese animation. Since 2003, Eminence has been performing works from anime movies and series such as soundtracks from Studio Ghibli, Naruto and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Many Eminence concerts also feature music from video games including Final Fantasy, Mario Brothers, Halo, World of Warcraft and The Legend of Zelda. Eminence has also recorded some of the most famous video game soundtracks in recent history, including Echoes of War: The Music of Blizzard Entertainment, Soul Calibur IV, and the yet to be released Diablo III.
Accompanying the Eminence performers will be video game composer, sound programmer and musician Yasunori Mitsuda. Mr Mitsuda has composed scores for many video games for the software game developer Square Enix, including such titles as: Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Mario Party and Shadow Hearts. Mr Mitsuda’s music has been played by the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and appeared in Play! A Video Game Symphony.
