Subcommittees help make the con awesome! We could not possibly run without them. If you want to help out more but aren’t sure if you’re ready to run for the board, then subcommittees is a good way to start~

Nominations close 13th March 2010, 5pm! If you are interested in more information about a specific position, ask questions here, or email the Secretary (who you’ll also need to email for a nomination form).

If you have time to spare, we would appreciate getting feedback from you on how your Wai-Con experience went, and what can be better improved. Head over to our feedback form and let us know!

If you haven’t seen the schedule yet, then check it out, because you’ll need to plan beforehand to see everything you want.

This is also your last chance to pre-register for the con. Pre-registration means you skip the entry line in favour of the shorter pre-reg line, and it also offers you a discount to the convention! So really, there’s no reason not to pre-reg! For more information, check out our ticketing page.

And under 18’s please make sure to fill out and bring in your Parental Permission Form, also available on the ticketing page. It would suck if you rocked up without it and had to go home to have your parents sign for you.

So you better be ready, cuz Wai-con is THIS WEEKEND! 23-24th January. Opening Ceremony at 9:30am, doors open at 10. Hope to see you all there!

Price: $10 per person (or $20 per team! wow! go maths!)

Its going to be LOADS of fun! We have some kick ass tasks to be completed and prizes to be won when you drag yourself to the finish line! =P this is the perfect opportunity to work out those leg muscles for trotting around Wai-Con!!!

Kick Your Heels Up And SHOUT!

People, people! The Ball is on its way!

So start working on those ball gowns and suits to match our theme this year which is Angels and Demons of course! The ball is a costume ball so go nuts! But remember, you gotta be able to sit down and not decapitate people in the process! Tables are 8-10 if you would like to get together some friends!

There will be music, there will be food (sit down meal) and there will be drinkies!!

So now on to the details cause they is important!

Also the Manifest team are bringing you new events and Mani-Madness – dusk til dawn manifest sweetness!

What is Mani-Madness you say? Well with Mani-Madness, now you don’t have to even go home at night! for those hardcore fans the Manifest crew are now offering a unique opportunity to instead of having withdrawal symptoms at night, to just go all night at Manifest 2009. That’s right: Melbourne Anime Festival has announced that it will be the first Anime convention in Australia to run over 24 hours straight!

So if you happen to be over in Melbourne, why not check out Manifest 2009 at the Melbourne Showgrounds?

The Art Competitions Coordinator is responsible for all the arts related competitions at Wai-Con, including finding judges and setting the themes for each competition.

• Volunteers Coordinator

The Volunteers Coordinator position involves managing the organization of all volunteers assisting at Wai-Con.

• Merchandising

The Merchandising position involves arranging all of the merchandising for all PAniC events including Wai-Con.

• Registrar

The Registrar is the person responsible for getting everyone in through the doors at Wai-Con, you take care of the passes, money taking and pre-registration of all attendees.
