PAniC Annual General Meeting 2015

* Red Cat No. 2 Stop No. 29 is right outside the venue building for those coming via public transport.

* Yellow Cat Stop No. 30 Police Station are also within walking distance of the venue if coming from Claisebrook train station or McIver (via Royal Perth Hospital Eastbound stop).

* Nearest train stations are McIver and Claisebrook: both are a 15 minute walk away.

* Nearest public parking is at the corner of Nelson Crescent and Plain Street, but parking is also available on Goderich Street and Forrest Avenue behind the community centre grounds.

With many thanks to all our sponsors, supporters, associate clubs, volunteers and committee members; we were able to bring you the Ani-Games Showdown.

That’s not the end of the story! Now is the time to elect a new committee who will make sure to bring you awesome events for the 2015-2016 year!

The 2015 PAniC Inc Annual General Meeting is the final meeting of the current board for the 2014-2015 period and where the nominees for the next board present themselves to the PAniC members to be heard, questioned and voted on to decide who will be on the 2015-2016 PAniC Inc. Board.

The agenda for this AGM is:

* 2014-2015 Board Member reports
* Progress update on 2014 SGM motions
* 2015-2016 Board Nominee Q&A
* Voting on 2015-2016 Board Nominees
* Presentation of 2015-2016 Board

Any PAniC member may attend the AGM and all members will have a vote in the election of the new committee. Non-PAniC members can also attend this annual general meeting if they wish to do so. Membership renewals are also possible on the day.

The following board positions that are up for nomination are:

* Treasurer
* Secretary
* Marketing Coordinator
* Events Coordinator
* Traders Coordinator
* Panels Coordinator
* Logistics Coordinator
* Competitions Coordinator

You must be a current PAniC member to nominate for the 2015-2016 board positions and you must not be blacklisted for any reason from our events.

If you are not currently a PAniC member and wish to nominate for a position on the 2015-2016 board, please note that on your application form so a PAniC membership application form can be provided to you directly to bring with you on the day of the Annual General Meeting.

FREE Bus Service for the Showdown

Hey guys,

Don’t forget there is a special event bus for the showdown! There has been a slight alteration, the bus will be leaving from Stand 8, its up the escalator and next to the deli. It is usually the CAT stand on weekdays, but there will be signage to let you know you are in the right place.

AniGames Judges 2015

Cosplay Competition Judges for the Ani-Games Showdown

PAniC are pleased to announce the judges for the Ani-Games Showdown will be Min, Arty and Amy! (shown above from left to right) Here is some background on our three lovely judges:

Min:
Min has been cosplaying for more then 14 years now and has previously competed in the Madman Nationals and World Cosplay Summit Prelimary rounds. She has taken a break from competitions, but still enjoys participating in photo shoots and making cosplays in her spare time.

Arty:
Arty has been studying alternative fashion and cosplay for about 10 years, excelling in sewing and pattern construction, and recently started a cosplay and lolita fashion page. She has travelled to Japan to see the World Cosplay Summit, met with some staff of Cure & WorldCosplay and looks forward to meeting more cosplayers worldwide.

Amy:
Amy is in her 9th year of cosplaying and has entered many competitions; including Madman National Championships last year. Her expertise in the forms of construction has earnt her awards in both W.A. and S.A, including a Performance Award and Advance Cosplayer Award at Waicon; 1 Best Group Award at Perth Supanova and 2 Best Group Awards at Adelaide Supanova.

Our next general meeting is slowly approaching! come join us in recapping the last month, accompanied with reports from all board members.

The PAniC committee are still looking for volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering your time during the Ani-Games Showdown, we would really appreciate your support. In return, you will get a discounted $15 entry, lunch and water over the two days, and a complimentary membership for 3 years! (Current members will receive a complimentary renewal)

To apply for volunteering:

– Fill out this survey (to help us assign you in a suitable area)

– Fill out a volunteer application form

– Fill out a membership form

– E-mail what day/times you are available, to the Volunteers Co-ordinator, Christina Lee at volunteers@panic-wa.org.

Listed below are the different areas that we need people to assist us with at the event:

Front of House – Team 1
This team will be in charge of maintaining the queue into the venue and making sure that the patrons know which line to queue in. This team needs volunteers with loud and clear voices and public speaking skills.

Front of House – Team 2
This team will be in charge of patrolling the meeting rooms as well as patrolling the walkways leading to the venue area and within the venue from one area to another including the loading bay dock. They will be manning barricades and entry/exit points to ensure that patrons enter through the right entrance. Previous experience in the screening and panels area of a convention will be valued as you will also be manningthe rooms. This team will need volunteers who are comfortable with public speaking.

Ticketing Support Team
We will need volunteers to support the Ticketmaster staff processing payments for checking PAniC memberships and ensuring that memberships are valid. Volunteers in this area will also be supporting Ticketmaster ushers in assisting patrons at this event. They will also be serving as lift attendants at the venue itself.

Cosplay Team
Cosplay will include marshalling, manning the cosplay comp registration desk as we will be accepting competition entrants on the day. There will be ushering duties in the viewing area for the cosplay competition as well. This team will need volunteers who are comfortable with public speaking and organizational skills.

Props Team
The props team at this event will escort those with props to the props storage area as well as man the props storage area for the duration of the event. During the cosplay competition they will will assist in getting props on and off stage from the props storage area.

Traders Floor Team
The traders floor team is to assist the floor manager in managing the traders floor space. This may include assisting with trader enquiries, patron enquiries as well as patrolling the floor to ensure it is a safe environment for the traders and general public.

PAniC HQ
PAniC HQ is where the Pocky and Ramune sales will be happening. We will need volunteers to assist with patron enquiries.

Media
The media team is in charge of taking photographs and videos during the event.

Logistics
Logistics will mainly be assisting with set up and set down as well as assisting the Logistics Coordinator during the event.

Gamezone
The volunteers in this area will be supporting the main event with the showdown. It will mainly be assisting patrons with enquiries regarding the consoles, bag checks and all duties regarding the gaming area.

Results of the Race Around Perth

Thank you to everyone who entered our Race Around Perth this weekend. It was a great turn out with ten teams competing for some awesome prizes and bragging rights up for grabs.

This year first place was taken out by the team “The 40%”. They won some great prizes including a double pass to the Doctor Who Symphonic Orchestra. Team Wildcats took second place, also scoring themselves Doctor Who tickets.

Every team did a great job, and thank you to all the volunteers who helped out on the day.
Don’t forget about our upcoming event Panic Presents: Ani-Games Showdown on 21-22 February 2015 at the HBF Arena, Joondalup. There will be lots of fun to be had for everyone! Japan Festival Cosplay Performance Show

Hi Perth Cosplayers!

Our friends at the Japan Festival is returning on Saturday 7th March 2015 at Forrest Place!
Along side the many cultural stage performances on the day, we are also introducing the brand new “Cosplay Performance Show!”

If you are you interested in performing on stage at the Japan Festival, please send an Expression of Interest to cosplayjfp@gmail.com. We will send a Cosplay performance show application form. You will be required to submit a movie of your performance with your application form.

Cosplay Performance Terms & Conditions:
– The Cosplay must be from a Japanese Anime, Manga, Movie or Novel etc.
– No metal or wooden weapons are permitted
– Performance should be within 3 minutes
– The performance should be same as movie you submit
– Performance is singing, dancing or skit etc.

(You can perform either new or you have already performed in other cons.)

One of the performances will be chosen to perform on stage, by one of most popular Japanese cosplayer – Reika!!!

(*Reika is unable to attend the festival in person, so she will be prejudging the performances via internet.)
